This workshop will facilitate participants' ability to more fully utilize Haiku. This workshop will introduce teachers to technologies that are already being used on campus, while challenging them to extend their classroom walls through full integration of the technologies.  The workshop will specifically illuminate how teachers can engage students in a collaborative classroom where they will feel safe to share their views and to show what they have learned.

With Haiku and Google technologies, sixth grade Science has been able to create a culture of collaboration. The practices that will be addressed in the workshop will further show how all students can more easily contribute to classroom discussions, as well.  Knowing that all students learn at different rates and ways, the workshop will illuminate that by breaking down the walls of the classroom through these technologies, students benefit from extra time and support structures to develop their understanding of any topic area.
